"SPIRIT OF THE AMERICAN GARDEN" AWARD
This year running our highly successful 'Spirit of the American Garden' award.
Winning photographs will be chosen from any of the existing categories.
The judges will be looking first and foremost for great photographs - and then they will choose images that say something about the place that gardens and cultivated spaces have in the American heart.
Examples of this could be:
Plant Portraits - a state flower?
Garden Views - photographs of one of the great Botanic gardens in the USA?
WIldlife in the Garden - a haven for Amercian wildlife - maybe a state bird or iconic Amercian creature - large or small!
People in the Garden - Amercian families enjoying life in the back yard?
WIldflowers - what about Marsh Marigolds around a stretch of water?
Trees - the mighty Redwoods are an obvious choice and what about other American treescapes - and Fall foliage?
Don't forget we have a special section for under 16s to enter free.
When you enter your photographs - just tag them 'Spirit of the Amercian Garden' in your caption text.
There will be a special prize of $500, plus two runners up prizes of photographic products worth $150 each.
Each winner will also receive the kudos of having the image exhibited - with a special citation - at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew during 2010.
We hope that the winning photographs can be exhibited in a prime location in the USA - more on this later. |
