"I have always loved Vine maples in the spring, with their vivid colour and striking pattern of leaves. But invariably I have always been forced to photograph them from below. Here, in southern Oregon, I was on a bridge above a small creek which, for the first time, put me above a spreading maple branch - with a gentle creek as a background. I thought it was lovely, and unique."
