Alpine Larch
Backlit Larch in the fall can be magnificent. I found this lovely specimen in the mts. of Washington state.
"Larch needles in the fall are wonderful to photograph especially when they are backlit. I often like to photograph contrasts in colour. The white cliff in the background was in deep shade. I knew from past experience that on a bright sunny day anything in shade would record the blue ambient light reflected from the sky. The Larch was in direct afternoon sun, so the backlit needles stood out magnificently against the blue background." |
