Moss, Bryum capillare
"Bryum capillare is a common moss that grows unnoticed on stones, walls or paving in most British gardens. Each spring I delight in seeing its nodding, translucent spore capsules glistening in the early morning sunshine, and I hoped to convey this feeling in my photograph. To show them at their best I have photographed the spore capsules life size as they approach maturity and are still translucent, and I have caught them naturally backlit by the rising sun."
