"The briefest of moments – a fleeting kiss between mother and her little son – captured on a glorious summer day in their own garden. The main feature of my portrait work combines my passion for working outdoors using natural light, with natural environments which have some emotional attachment for the subject – often their own gardens. In this case, the family was emigrating to New Zealand and they were sad to be leaving behind a beautiful English garden. I wanted to give them pictures to remember the garden and its atmosphere."
