"Food expert Gregg Wallace in the orchard at Brogdale. Illustrating an article on Apples in BBC Gardeners' World magazine, I was briefed to capture his humour using the William Tell theme. At the same time, the photograph had to capture the atmosphere of a late summer orchard. The apples in the background and the one on Gregg's head were chosen for their colour, not variety.
Whenever you take a celebrity portrait, you're usually on a strict deadline and often don't know what to expect from a session. In this instance, Gregg was the perfect sitter and the photos almost took themselves – we just had to hope the camera motordrive could keep up with his quick-fire humour!."
