I took this one early April morning from our kitchen window just as the sun was clearing the trees and illuminating the deciduous azaleas at their peak, the acers just leafing out, and the white blossoms of our native dogwood (cornus florida) in the woodland below. A wren was singing and two male cardinals were calling each other to give extra life to the vernal scene.
