This portfolio expresses my fascination with plants and is dedicated to my favourite photographer Karl Blosfeld. The title of the portfolio refers to Qi energy, which in traditional Chinese culture is an active principle present in every living thing, or 'life energy'. The x-ray technique not only reveals the remarkable forms and structures of plants, but also gives us the opportunity to feel this energy. This kind of photography requires a focus on the shape of the plants and image composition. When I started this project, I was assisted by my good friends and radiology technicians Jaroslaw Mszanski and Rafal Susser. Over the three years of this project I used x-ray equipment at three clinics, and also worked closely with Wroclaw Botanical Garden and Professor Tomasz Nowak.
