Each year in England thousands of people get out in the fresh air and volunteer to help conserve wildlife, landscapes, parks, gardens and other green spaces.
This competition celebrates the conservation volunteering experience. Send us photos of your experiences of conservation volunteering – we’re looking for images that are creative, visually interesting and full of the enjoyment which comes from being active and volunteering outdoors.
This is your chance to show you, your family or friends making a difference to your local environment – whether it’s in a town or in the countryside.
Do you have photos of when you have, for example:
- Taken part in wildflower meadow management?
- Helped with coppicing or planting trees?
- Cleared a weed-filled pond?
- Built a bird box?
- Mended a stile?
- Cleared a footpath?
- Helped to maintain your local park or gardens?
- Repaired a dry stone wall?
- Counted bats?
If you have great pictures of your conservation volunteering experience then send them in to be in with a chance to win high street vouchers, have your photo in an exhibition at Kew Gardens and be named the Defra MuckIn4Life Conservation Volunteering Photographer of the Year. We will also be selecting regional and under 16 winners so there’s more than one chance available to pick up a prize.
